I was listening to Sufjan Stevens' new album Carrie and Lowell.
And I was thinking about what these critics had written about it
and I wondered if they missed the whole point when they listened to it.
I wonder if they listened  to the album 
thinking about the idea of Sufjan
and didn't really hear the album at all.
They thought so hard their ears stopped working.
Sometimes they can do that.
Sometimes I do that.

I was thinking about coffee the other day on a walk.
And I was thinking about how the whole point to coffee is enjoyment.
It's not about where the coffee came from,
or if it's light roasted
or dark roasted.
It's not about the development of the bean
or the brew method,
at least not necessarily.
There isn't one way to source it
or roast it
or brew it
in order for it to be enjoyed.

The point is to enjoy coffee.

Sometimes I think so hard about coffee 
so hard about the idea of coffee
that I don't taste it
or look around while I drink it
or laugh with the person I'm having it with. 

Enjoy coffee.

Tiny House Coffee has a roaster inside a tiny house.

We built the tiny house.
It took all summer.
By the fall we had found,
by dumb luck,
a roaster for sale.
We borrowed money from my mom and bought the roaster. 
By winter we had decided to start a roasting company.
Here we are in spring with regular customers and enough side roasting to keep working on the craft. 

The snow is melting
the windows are opening
and Tiny House Coffee is in full swing.
